Things that Should not be Chilled

Your Bottleless water cooler tastes best when cold unlike peanut butterFor those of our readers who are lucky/sensible enough to have invested in a great bottleless water cooler for their home or office, it is obvious that having lovely, chilled water on tap is just the ticket to an easy life. Amongst other things. It may not be so obvious, however, which other foodstuffs should/should not be kept at a cool temperature, and this week we help you out with advice on this tricky subject:
Certain baked goods: If you’ve made cookies with some sort of creamy/custard filling, avoid putting them in the fridge, as cooling them down will only speed up the process of them going stale. Not what we want.
Potatoes: Did you know that refrigerating potatoes will make the starch in them turn to sugar, giving them a sweet taste when cooked? That’s a fact.
Peanut butter: With few branded exceptions, keep your peanut butter in the cupboard, even when opened. It’ll make it much easier to put on your toast when the mood takes you.
